BIO 307 - Environmental Biology3 cr. This course is an exploration of the relationship between human activity and the natural environment. Using basic biological concepts as a framework, the course examines topics such as: natural resource use; pollution; waste; energy; agriculture and food; climate change; environmental justice and human health; biodiversity; and the genetic basis of biological conservation. The intersection of biology and the sciences with economics, ethics, and the social sciences in environmental studies will also be discussed. Three hours per week for lecture discussions. Prerequisites: BIO 112 and BIO 112L Co-Requisite: BIO 307L . This course may be offered only every other year
