Healthcare Advocacy

The minor in Healthcare Advocacy embraces interdisciplinary learning and has its foundation in the College of Nursing Framework and nursing paradigm.  Course offerings are open to all majors who seek to add additional coursework in healthcare content. Students who complete the Healthcare Advocacy minor are afforded the opportunity to acquire knowledge that lend to patient advocacy, healthcare ethics, EKG interpretation, medical billing and coding, and other skills that will ready them for opportunities in the healthcare arena.  The minor in Healthcare Advocacy is earned upon completion of 18 hours of healthcare advocacy (HCA) and related (HCP or HS) coursework.
